Character Concept: Hitomi

This was my first time in to do an illustration for real. As always, it started out as a warmup for another painting I was planning on doing, and this was merely to test out some new techniques and colors... Well 4-5 hours later and I ended up with this, giggling like a school girl all the while. I really want to spend a little bit more time to tiddy things up a bit, especially the face (which I spent all of 10-15min working on >< and make her more 可愛い。It really started with the pants, before then I was doing what I always did, half ass all the details, focus on the colors and saturations and try, TRY, for the life of me, get the big picture in my head. Well, a couple strokes to the pants, a couple more, and before I knew it it stopped sucking.

So a little bit about the character:
Her name is Hitomi, she's a bio major, 17, Japanese, hip and trendy but still practical, hardworking, and caring despite her quick temper. She's one of the main characters I'm thinking to write about (think Ichigo 100% + real feelings + non-half-assed character development) that sets in the future, and in some college campus (probably based entirely on my own) which will also provide a lot of background info (both factual and symbolic) that supplements for my still vaporare main story that has SOMEthing to do with all the mechs and miltary stuff I draw

Her outfit & accessories:
Cat Ears::These are Evangelion like hair clips shell in the shape of cat ears that can house various electronics, like feeling recorders, stress relievers, microphone, speakers (low amplitude for personal use) w/ receivers for her watch
Watch:: equipped with music, video player and cellphone wireless connectivity and primitive news checker, since she doesn't like to carry bendable/foldable keyboard with her (even with all the latest tech, she still doesn't have pockets), it can transmit audio to various devices like her cat ear, or a micro ear piece. It can also call the police in case of an emergency, like irregular brainwaves detected.
Pants button::the square gray thing is actually a biometric sensor so only she can take her pants off; this is a deterrent against pervs of the future
Belt hoops::no one where belts around the waist anymore, at least no one who considers themselves cool. But wrapping belts around the legs, especially the upper thigh is very trendy of this future
Angle Acuators::These little thingies keep teens and college kids from spraning their ankle while wearing precarious flippers
