and this is what I did the last hour or two, that and trying to figure out how to use tokenizer to parse statements into expressions and execute them.... Can anyone say kill-polymorphism?
anyway, this is what the tank would look like when it's finished modeling (the details will look a lot better, I didn't really think through a lot of it...) enjoy
This reminds of the new Jordanian Army;s indigenous 5th generation tank based on the Challenger chassis. unmanned turret designs are all the rage these days.
Just w8 a minute, if that tank will be hit by a RPG, it would have a hole into it because the armor dont have a slant portion. And under the canon, i think it is a weak point because it is slightly elevated, it must be lowered for some protection.
Looks awesome! The modeling is superbly done. From a real-life perspective, however, I'm not sure how effective it would be in combat. There are quite a few potential shot-traps around/on the turret, and the front armour doesn't seem to have much slope to it, and neither does the turret.(Though this could be negated by how thick the armour is, and where engine is placed). The turret's position on the aft section also limits the tank's hull-down firing capability as well. Crew comfort could also be lacking (particularly for the driver, if there is one, since the placement of the potential driver's hatch on the left side is in the hull, which is quite low, and the figure for comparison suggests that it would extremely cramped in there) Also, ammunition storage might be an issue, since the hull is so flat, and the fact that the engine is (presumably) in the front reduces storage. The rear-mounted fuel tank is also vulnerable to enemy fire (unless is is well armoured or jettisonable)
On the plus side, though, this vehicle has several advantges to. Low hull=Low silhouette. the wide tracks aid in distributing the wieght better, and the frontal engine also serves as secondary armour for the crew. Because of the wide tracks and large space for the engine, offroad/onroad performance could be quite good, and because of the wieght being distributed over wide tracks, more amour could be carried while still maintaining low ground pressure (low ground-pressure is essential for operating in cities and urban areas). The main cannon (125mm?) appears powerful, and looks as though it has good optics.
All-in-all, an awesome model, but from a combat purspective, a mediocre tank (if facing similarly advanced technology of course). I don't mean any offense!
c4d?
(i must learn how to make my english better T_T)
